Then after you have installed this. You should follow these steps:

It sounds like the virus has pretty much taken over your computer. If you have any files that you need saved or would rather not have others have, then take them off and put them on a external drive for now. Also disconnect your computer from any sort of network, whether it be wireless or not. That way you don't spread the virus to other computers.

If you know how, I would try to format your hard drive. Wipe it clean of everything and reinstall your operating system. If you dont know how to do that any computer repair place would be able to help you at a reasonable cost. Just do not go to one of the big electronics stores like Best Buy, they will charge you a fortune for something that is relatively easy to do.

I found a simple way to delete it.

After I would log on, privacy center would come up and would not allow me to do anything either. so i did the following….

1 start Task Manager while privacy center was running,(Ctrl + Alt + Delete)

2 Click on processes tab ( its the second tab next to application tab)

3 locate file pc.exe, click on it, then click on (End Process) tab bottom

4 Click on (Applications)tab

5 click on (New Task)tab then click (Browse)button

6 then click on (c:)then (Program files)

7 Find Privacy Centre then click on that.

8 Then click on the uninstall file.

Then reboot and it should work. It did for me.

4. Do a full system scan with each.

5. Remove any threats found and you should be good to go.

I have had the same thing Its a HOAX virus. update your virus definitions and scan. If im correct it showed scanning through out all your dives even optical drives and and saying that they are infected. PS If you ever suspect a virus disconnect from the internet immediately and scan your computer in safe mode. I sometimes even pull the HDD out and Scan it as an external drive.

Assuming you backed up all your data before this happened, I would wipe out the hard disk and re-install Windows. Wipe the slate clean.

Be sure to do the long format, not the short one.
