I am stumped!

The area of a trapezoid can be calculate by multiplying the average base length by the height. Just as the area of a rectangle can be calculated by multiplying the length by the height, this is just a slightly more complicated situation. The average base length is just the sum of the bases divided by two (total number of bases). The formula to calculate the area becomes:
Area = height x (base1 + base2) / 2
= 6 meters x (14 meters + 16 meters) / 2
= 6 meters x 15 meters
= 90 meters^2

The area of a trapezoid can be broken down into two triangles and a rectangle.
It's easy to see the rectangles area.
[RECT] = (6)*(14) = 84
And the triangles areas will sum to a rectangle also,
[Two Triangles] = (6)(2) = 12
So
[Total Area] = 12 + 84 = 96
