Am I Transgender or not?

So I was born biologically male but I don't know if that is who I am truly am inside.

So ever since I can remember I haven't been a macho person, when I was little I didn't really act like a normal boy when most boys wanted to play cowboys and indians I played doll house with my girl relatives, they ever painted my nails once and my mum was telling me I was watching her put lipstick on and after she was finished I put it on (I was like four at the time).

For a while all stuff like that just seemed to go away (I still played dolls) but around puberty I started feeling real umcomfortable with my body and has seemed to grow since then.

I have worn girls clothes and all that stuff before (whenever I can really) and I have been reading up alot recently about transgender people and it sounds like me.

I am really confused and I don't know what to do all I know is that I don't want die as a man.

Update:

I am 16 btw

Update 2:

Well actually I am bisexual so I don't think I feel like this only because of an excuse.

You certainly sound to be transgender to me. Whether you are trangender or transexual is basically self diagnosed, but often getting some help sorting out exactly where you fit in can really help especially if you have more than on issue like you have.

Being both Bi and Transgender (Transsexual) myself, I had a great deal of confusion for many years. The conflicting signals had me bouncing back and forth. Was I gay, was I a gay man that enjoyed cross dressing, or a drag queen? Did I really like women also? It drove me crazy.

With the help of a therapist I was finally able to slow down, separate the issues and quit trying so hard to find all the answers at once. Accepting what I did know and working on them one at a time until they were clear to me is what finally worked.

If you can go to a gender therapist they will be a big help. If you cant try to slow down some, accept yourself, have a little fun and just go with the flow for a while. Once you relax your own instincts will give you a lot of answers.

    Good luck

Being confused is pretty normal, especially with gender. It kind of sounds as though you are looking for conformation from someone on here to say 'yes, you are transgender', but no-one can tell you that. There are so many other labels apart from man, woman or trans. You could be genderqueer, or genderless or any other gender that you want to be.

Personally, I've known I was trans for years, and when I started referring to myself as a guy I felt so much more comfortable in myself and my body. I noticed that the label I had put on myself before (lesbian) was too constricting. It forced me into a box I didn't feel comfortable being in.

Try out different things, see how you feel. Identifying as transgender is just a label that tells other people who you are. If you are comfortable with that label then don't be ashamed or embarrased. Embrace who you are and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Good luck for everything in the future.

RE: The Difference Between Transgender and Transsexual? I feel quite foolish asking this question, but after what I must say is extensive reading on the topic, I still can't really comprehend the exact difference between transgender and transsexual.

It sounds like you are transgendered. The onlyh real "test" is how you feel inside, do you feel like a woman or a man? if you are there is always the option of a sex change opperation

The only way to know if you are truly transgender is to see an Endocronologist and have your hormones checked. Good luck.
