Final Fantasy X PS2 Saving and Loading?
I have files saved in different slots in case I have to go back to get something. Now that I realize I do, can I go into one of my earlier files and bring that item into my most recent file?

You can load the previous game, with the item that you want, and play it up to the point where you're at in the game. Then you'll be at your current place with the item.
but there's no way to do it instantly, like you're wanting to.

No, not unless you go back and get it, then play up to the point you're at in your most recent file again. Sorry but there is no way to do it. There's no point in having all those different saves.
