Sims 2 apartment life technical problem?
I have Vista with 2GB RAM. All is good but when I click the Family button (where you select a family or create one) the music stops and the game loads. Very long.
So, is it really loading or there's something wrong?
I only have Seasons and AL as expansion and I download the patches (original, Seasons and Apartment Life).
oh hey guys! After reading through the internet and no results. I did something myself.
right click >>> Properties the AL Exp-pack (NOTE: not the shortcut or the launcher, the game itself named Sims2EP8) then go to compatibility, tick the compatibility mode and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 2), and also tick the "Run this program as Admin" and viola, it friggin work!

If this began after you installed AL, then you might want to uninstall that expansion and then see if it works without it. Reinstall it if it does.
If it doesn't then uninstall everything and try again, just remember not to uninstall your neighborhoods and characters. It might just be a bad install or the game disks could have issues.

Mine does that too, and not just for the family. Alot of things, I have every E-P and what-not. It could just be the game because AL has alot of bugs- and glitches, some that will kill your computer. All together it could just be the game. Seasons comes with it's own fair of bugs. It could just be the game, or hardware. If it's not a virus, there's your problem.
i.e.- my computer just got sweeped, and new software and these problems still remain.

Its loading but if its taking a really long time you might have a virus in the computer. But even if you have a virus it should load eventually.
