TV show from the late 80s where the lead actor died ?

Question

All I can remember is that there was a guy and a girl, that had a modeling agency. They would go undercover and I cant remember if they solved crimes or they were spys. 

But what I do remember is that the lead actor (I remember he had blond hair blue eyes) died in real life. I cant remember if he commited suicide or they had an accident with a blank gun on set. I dont know why this came to mind but its killing me not to be able to figure out.  

Thanks to anyone that may remember it. I tried to google for it but there are too many variables to try to find it.

There was a show called 'Cover up'.  And the lead actor in it killed himself with a gun loaded with blanks.  His name was Jon Erik-Hexum.  It game out in 1984.  When I googled it, I looked up actor shoots himself with blanks and he was the first person who came up.  Then I looked him up on IMDB, and the show sounded like it would be the right one.

i know the show cant rember the name but it was a blank gun and im not sure but i think he was dating a couger the grandma from whos the boss no realy now it buggin me

yes, it was "cover up" and the actor jon eric hexum accidentally shot himself playing a mock game of russian roulette.

he was replaced by anthony hamilton, who died of aids some years later.
