no they do not! and you should not take anything before you go. if you do it could cause major bleeding and actually make it to where you could loose all taste in food and you could more prone to infections! i have had my tongue pierced twice and it hurt a little the Second time but just because they were going through scar tissue! i went and ate mexican food after the first time so don't worry it is not as bad as it sounds or seems!

Most places won't, rather they give you Listerine to swirl around your mouth first, and compared with other piercings it isn't that painful!
My room mate had hers numbed first, and she couldn't stop drooling for at least an hour

get some cough drops called Surcrets and they will completely numb your tongue if you suck on about 2

No, but it doesn't hurt. They make you rinse with listerine first and that hurts more than the piercing. If you're really worried about it you could suck on ice for awhile.
