Player serves a record 55 aces and goes on to lose the match? Who is he?

He also shares the second best number of aces with Joachim Johansson at 51. He has never won a 5 set match. Oh gee....with such a great service game and also with serve and volley game, he goes on to lose matches. I hope he can improve his game strategy. So who is this player?

Update:

Does he not resemble very much as Isner? Tall and powerful serves, who can play serve and volley.

The guy's serve is so good, but the rest of his game is below par, he seemed to be injured or tired after the third set in this match, and he had a few injury timeouts during the match...the fact that he has lost all of his five set matches is a testament to his lack of ability beyond his serves, as well as the fact that the majority of the sets that he plays ends up in tiebreakers since his opponents are unable to break him yet he doesn't have the skill to break their serve.

He is kind of like Isner, but IMO Isner has better groundstrokes and stuff, although that makes me wonder why Isner is behind him in the rankings....Karlovic and Isner get that many aces with their height because obviously they have higher net clearance and are able to hit the ball a lot flatter, but also the ball has more natural bounce, when the ball hits the service box for these giants, the ball bounces up a lot more so even if Karlovic had 55 aces which we both know is a hell of a lot, he also had numerous unreturnable serves.

Ivo Karlovic. He's kinda like Andy Roddick in my opinion but a little worse. Both have great serves but don't have ground strokes of the same caliber to follow up. They also don't have the aggression, determination, and overall mentality to really dominate. However, I think the area where Karlovic lacks most is his conditioning. I've never played a 5 setter, obviously it's hard, but those are professional athletes. They NEED to be able to last that long. Hewitt is such an athlete. He's in great shape and he has the most incredible mentality (maybe besides Nadal). Coming back from a 0-2 set deficit is NEVER easy and I applaud him. However, Karlovic needs some work if he wants to improve his ranking and be able to defeat better players. He needs to work on endurance and just practice hitting those ground strokes and volleys more.

He does indeed have a great service game like John Isner. I would attribute much of this to his 6 ft 10 in. height. This allows his serves to enter the court at a much steeper angle than other players. This equals more speed since he is naturally able to drive the ball down, and a higher bounce making many serves un-returnable.

If he could gain consistency and work a lot on physical fitness then I'll bet he could win a couple 5 setters.

Ivo Karlovic has one of the best serves in history, obviously Sampras is no.1 unarguably. Yeah, that huge ace factor is starting to become a pattern. If you watched some of the match they talked about (around 5th set) when Ivo hit no.50 who held service ace records, etc. They all lost! Karlovic just cant seem to pull it together. He isnt that consistent of a player, so am i suprised? Not really.

Ivo Karlovic, I can't believe he lost that match, my bracket would be perfect if he hadn't lost.
