  • How much will this shirt shrink?

I ordered a shirt online and the tag says "100% Prima Cotton". The material is pretty thin. It fits well new, but how much will a wash/dry shrink it?

    Thanks!

  • Tennis Warehouse Dampeners?

So I ordered some rackets to demo from tenniswarehouse.com and some of them came with dampeners on the strings? What happens if I decide to keep the dampeners for myself? You think they would notice?

  • Can you recommend some classical music to study to?

I usually jam out to punk rock, but lately I've found that listening to classical music while I study or do work helps me concentrate and relax.

I really like music with lots of strings. Antonio Vivaldi is my favorite so far, so do you know of any music or composers with similar sound or maybe your own personal preference to study to? Nothing too booming or disruptive because that wouldn't be good for studying. Thanks.

  • How many calories a day should I be eating?

I'm a 16 year old guy (155 pounds) whose pretty active. I lift weights 3 times a week, do high school tennis practice 5 days a week, and run about 5 miles of cardio once or twice a week.

How many calories a day should I be eating to make sure I continue to grow and build muscle?

  • How much should I charge for tennis lessons?

My neighbor asked me to give tennis lessons to her 10 year old kid this summer but I don't really know how much money to ask for because i'm not a real teaching pro, I'm just 16 and captain of my high school team. The teaching pro that I take lessons from charges about 45 bucks an hour, but I know that's way too much for me to ask.

I gave the first 30 minute lesson today and she just handed me 20 bucks. I told her I thought it was too much, but she just told me to keep it and we'd sort out a price later.

How much money do you think is reasonable for a 16 year old kid to ask for when giving beginner lessons?

  • Have you read "The Inner Game of Tennis"?

I know that it's a really popular book and it's supposed to be helpful with the mental part of tennis, but I was wondering if it can really make a difference in one's game or confidence.

If you've read it, can you tell me if it helped you out or not? Thanks

  • What can I do about Unequal Arm Muscles?

I've been playing tennis for a couple of years and as a result, i've built considerably more muscle in my right arm than my left arm. The difference is only apparent if you're looking for it, but i've noticed it a lot lately with lifting weights, and it's pretty obvious when i flex my arms.

Is there anything special i can do to help my left arm "catch up" with my right arm? Or if i just keep lifting weights normally will my left just eventually catch up on its own?

    Thanks

  • How many community service hours should someone have upon graduating high school?

I'm a sophomore in high school.

Currently I've got a 4.0 GPA, I play varsity tennis, I'm involved in quiz bowl and leader of a few clubs, I plan on taking somewhere between 7 and 9 AP classes by the time I graduate, and I made a 29 ACT (which i plan on greatly improving by my senior year).

But the thing is......I don't have any community service hours.

How many hours should a competitive, college-bound student have upon graduation? I really want to get into a decent college, but I have no idea if there's a minimum amount of hours that colleges prefer.

And how long do you think it will take to get these hours? (don't say "X" number of hours lol)

  • Can you explain Chess Ratings to me?

I have a vague idea of what chess ratings are, but it's very confusing to me.

For instance, what's FIDE, and Elo? Are those different rating systems? I never understood that.

And also, I just played a tournament as an unrated player and ended up with a rating of 1613 but on Chessmaster my rating is less than 1000! Which one would be more reliable?

  • Folio society? What do you think?

I got this offer in the mail to join the "Folio Society" which is apparently a company that publishes really nice editions of books. If I join, I can get the entire "History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" for about 20 bucks. The thing is, I'd have to buy 4 more books to fulfill my membership requirements, and on their website, the cheapest books i saw were about $40.

I'm a sucker for these kinds of offers, but I don't know if it's worth it.

Have any of you done business with the Folio Society before, and can you tell me if their books are worth the price?
