i have a question about christianity and the law. i ask this question in R&S first and now i would like to get?

some non religious feed back

my mother and our neighbor where sitting around the bonfire tonight discussing how there are more laws these days against christians then any other religion. what laws are there in the u.s. specifically targeting christians and their beliefs?

the only example they had was if a pharmacist refuse to sell a women birth control he/she could get sent to jail.

are pharmacist like doctors where they have to take an hippocratic oath, and there for have to fill any prescription giving by a doctor?

ok i guess that's two questions.

just for the record i am an atheist and believe a pharmacist should not be aloud to refuse any prescription based on their personal belief, but i still wonder if there are other laws like this.

Update:

thank you, you all gave such great educated answers

if any body is interested theses are the answer i got from R&S

There are no laws in the US that "target" any religion. However, there are laws that, by their operation, will affect a particular religion more than others. In your example, not all Christians are necessarily against birth control, and not all people who are against birth control are Christians. The law doesn't "specifically target Christians", it targets birth control, which just happens to affect Christians more than other religions.

Your example isn't an example of a law targeting Christianity (and, in fact, the vast majority of Christians would not be ethically opposed to dispensing birth contol), but rather a law that requires everyone who is licensed as a pharmacist to dispense legal prescriptions.

I'm not aware of any laws targeting Christians and their beliefs. There are always some members of some religious groups who claim an exception to what the law requires because of their beliefs, but the laws are not aimed at those groups any more than any other group.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." - The U.S. Constitution

In no way is the birth control example targeted against any religion, that is targeted against pharmacists that refuse to give the lawfully guaranteed drugs that were prescribed by a licensed doctor, if a doctor signs a prescription, by law, the pharmacist MUST fill it, no matter what drug it is.

Your neighbor evidences the rather unattractive Persecution Complex that Christians have. If anyone disagrees with them, or if the government does not favor them, or if they are prevented from using the government as a tool for evangelism, they moan and complain, like they were being thrown to the lions.
