Why cant I find the old style tents we had as kids, triangular with aluminum post ?

I am looking for one for my 1 day trips, I love the speed and ease of putting them up and they are perfect for 1 person. any help would be great !

Update:

i have been camping for 30 years, lol, why do you goofs answer with things like "get something modern" my "modern tent" probably cost more then your automobile's. as I explained, I want something that sets up in minutes.

Try this Eureka Timberline. When I was growing up, my dad was a boy scout leader. These are the tents they used and that was 25 years ago. So, maybe that's what you're looking for.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv/ and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

Check Craigslist. I found a university that was practically giving away old A-frame and pup tents once. Although my modern Kelty cost a hundred bucks, is up in a few minutes and has taken several years of abuse without one leak. Just sayin'...

I prefer dome tents since I only camp in Florida now - and if you are in Florida it never gets that cold - only lots of rain. And since I am very short I have found it is easier to put up a dome tent alone (if necessary). Also you must be careful of mold in older tents.

Yea I dont know why people bother posting answers if they dont know what they are talking about? "Out of Style"? C`mon now, its one of the most popular tents with scout troops around the country. Sure they`re not made out of canvas now, so the "modern" ones are made out of nylon.

Well, they probably went out of style. Sorry about that. Why don't you try finding something more modern? The more modern tents tend to be more durable.

I see them from time to time in the Army-Navy Surplus store. If you're in Northeast Ohio, you can try White's in Medina.

most army surplus websites and even stores sell them, this is the only kind that I can think of from your explanation.

if it's this design your looking for, you can make your own with a tarp, heavy duty or camping, this video shows a good design:

there's probably a reason for that, i guarantee that you could find a more modern tent even more suitable and easier to find
