Laughter , Joking , Sense of Humor , Listen to non-depressing Music - Hang out with upbeat type of people (sometimes it will occasionally helps) , play with your pet if you have one -- that can help calm the beast within you ! Depends on how severe your depression is -- some stages of depression there is nothing that can help less the pain and sadness - time can help a lil - just helps dull it a bit ! Depression is a disease/ mental illness and no meds - or counceling is the 100 % cure ! There is only things that can help - like meds and counceling , laughter , etc... Your will power is your best defense - got to keep it strong - so that when you get real depressed it don't pull you into the black hole and that is when people do things that harm themselves !

I'd say give antidepressants another try. There are some new ones out there like Pristiq that work differently than SSRIs. If you've been depressed this long and have tried everything else it's worth a shot. Another possibility is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

You have been, and still are, feeling depressed. You want to get out of your depression.
Allow me to paste here an answer that I have composed for a previous friend.
>> You are messed up. You have so many problems. Many things are wrong in your life.
Yet, you might try and resolutely start one event, more carefully thinking about something, working about something, more astutely juggling with some duty, or with something looming near or far, material or more intensely spiritual, whereby you may think that you are diligently ardently trying and building up, or adding up to, some good glowing memory for a future.
A warm soul's companion might be of great help to you, preferably a concrete one, or even a cyber one, that you might share dreams and great laughs together, ardently interacting, and trying and building up, or improving, something with a brighter vision, a dreamy event.
How is the food in your own present life? Diligently preparing, on your own, or in a feastly company of others, some good health-giving food might improve your moods greatly.
How is your own attitude towards sports? A social sport, a perspiring exertion, that might even give you chances of winning prizes or medals might give you more healthy glow in your own eyes, in your own face, in the whole of your own person and personality, and ... make you feel prouder, especially when you will discover yourself being ardently perspiringly panting.
Having no better idea, you might try splashing the waters at the local swimming pool. There you will certainly meet people who will want to laugh together with you, who will want to see who can be faster at swimming.
Whatever your own present situation, you might try and look for some chances of great merrier laughs, in the presence of a loving soul's companion, of a new friend, or of new friends that will welcome you as if never wanting you to leave. <<

Go to your doctor!!! It could be an illness that's making you depressed. If not, the doc can give you meds to help you. If you want to feel better right this second, try some exercise for an hour and a balanced meal. Good luck!

Truly the only thing that relieves depression is time. I have been diagnosed with clinical depression, and nothing can magically "make it better". Taking anti-depressants and talking with a therapist can make bouts of depression less frequent, but they can not cure depression. Depression eventually lifts by itself. You just have to wait it out.

im completly just saying this from experience so waht you should do is find a person who you love and really like try to get them to like you and in the process of doing that you will feel less depressed. Also try to be a comedian and make people laugh.

Don't avoid seeing your friends or avoid doing things that you used to do/still do regularly. That's all I can say really, as I myself am depressed and can't tell you how to "stop"... but this is probably the one thing I regret and the best advice I personally can give you.

Do something to make you feel better like hang out with GOOD friends, or have good time or just something relaxing and peaceful like lying in a beautiful rose garden in your grandma's house.

You have to address what is causing your depression. Until it's addressed, you'll continue to be depressed..
