Yes, it's normal and may be nothing at all. If it is really uncomfortable you can try some vaginal anti-itch cream - vagisal makes a product that is a clear gel, as do some other companies. Just make sure that it is for your vagina, as other products can really irritate and possibly cause infection. If it lasts more than a few days, or if it's accompanied by other side effects, I would call the doctor and see if they want you to come in.
