Should people in the US get upset over this?
Canadians seem to get miffed every time something happens in the US media to disparage Canada or a Canadian (re: Fox News). Should the US populous get upset over this and demand a sincere apology?

Nah, it's just Canada for Christ sakes. Nobody pays attention to Canada.

It appears that the US media and/or populous of both countries have the same problem. Regardless of what the headlines read, any intelligent American or Canadian citizen knows that the media overblows everything, to increase their "ratings". It's all about enormous amounts of money - neither which the average American OR Canadian has enough of. We think our governments protect us? Not in this lifetime. It's all smoke and mirrors. The hotshots get the bucks and we can't even feed our families - some of us have lost our homes and cars and everything else we work for. I'm not an American, but Canadians have the same dream as you do. We want the same things - equal rights for all citizens, to be treated with respect and dignity, to help each other when the going gets tough (which is what its been now for months), to raise our families in a clean and safe environment, and to have decent medical care and education. So, if the people in the US get upset over this, please know this. It is not coming from those of us who hold a high regard for your country. We bless America too.

Some politician apologized recently for blaming 9/11 on Cdns and saying the terrorists were Canadian, which was broadcast on EVERY news station in the USA that morning. There are still senators clinging to this lie --
The point is the Americans had to then sling some mud at Canada by raking up an event that is old news. Standard American diplomatic relations, we will apologize and then throw some more sh* t at you, and who cares anyhow? How many people listen to French CBC?
Its the Americans trying to deflect attention from their stupidity over 9/11 and the apology.

Weird.
Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee made a joke about an Obama assassination attempt, and he hardly got any press coverage.
And talk about being hypocrites. Fox News' own Liz Trotta made a joke during the election campaign about assassinating BOTH Osama and Obama, and now they are condemning a French Canadian radio station that no one really listens to anyway?

Jokes about presidential assassinations are generally not funny and not taken lightly. I am sure the Secret Service would have investigated anything that was said, and found that in ALL these cases, people really did not take them seriously.
And besides, not funny is not funny, regardless of what nationality said it...

A joke is a joke. What Fox did was not a joke but painted a picture of Canada that was wrong.

This post wasted more time on these morons (the comedians (?) who made the comments) than any one else has and that is way more attention than they deserve. Move on!

This happened last DECEMBER. Nothing 'sensationalistic' happened then, and won't now.
Move on.
