What would you do if a person entered a fast food restaurant barefoot and sat next to you?
I live a barefoot lifestyle and hardly ever wear shoes. What would you do if you saw me in a fast food place? Would you give me a dirty look, ignore me, be inspired by me and take off your flip flops, say something nice like "no shoes? that looks comfortable", say something mean like "why don't you put some shoes on, no one wants to see your dirty feet", report me to the manager, move your seat so you won't have to see my feet, or something else? The reason I gave those options is because they've all happened when I was barefoot in fast food places.

Considering that the human foot carries the most bacteria and jut nasty sh*t on them than any other part of the body including the private areas, I would gag and leave. The lat thing i want to see are someone funky nasty feet while I'm eating. I know that sounds harsh, but that is exactly what I'd be thinking.
If you know all these things and have experienced them, why not just be considerate and wear shoes when you enter into an eating establishment? Just carry a pair of slip ons in your bag and put them on while eating then take them off when you leave? I mean, if you already know that you're being offensive and deliberately continue to do so, what kind of person does that make you? I am one who prefers to go bare foot, also...so I'm not trying to act superior or anything, but even though I love going barefoot, I still don't like looking at dirty feet when I'm eating.

Many times at fast food you see people in bare feet having kicked off their sandals or flip flops after sitting down at their table.
I see no difference in someone walking in barefoot or taking their shoes off at the table.
Either way it is Ok with me and do not understand why it would bother anyone.
If someone says they do not want to look at your feet, tell them to look at the food they are eating and not at your feet!

Personally, I'd probably ask you why you're walking around with no shoes, just to make sure you're cognitive. My child would also probably point out that there's a man without shoes, and being a responsible parent, I'd foster her curiosity, and mine, & say' "gee, I see that, wonder why?.. let's ask him."
Some food establishments wouldn't pemit you to walk around unprotected because of sanitation rules, so I don't see how a manager or employee wouldn't approach you and ask you to leave. Personally, I wouldn't care, my food is high, your feet are low, there are worse things on our tables and trays than what could possibly be on your feet.
Then again, I don't eat at fast food places for those reasons anyway.
Let's say.. grocery store.. I'd still ask you, because I like to talk to people, but I wouldn't be bothered by it.
Do you get annoyed by rude and inconsiderate individuals who judge and critisize you before you even speak? That must be the real problem with society!
People are close minded and so influenced by what is deemed socially acceptable, they forget how people really used to live and function, thereby, making the past unacceptable or barbaric when they come face to face with it.
We live in a world with Nike and Mcdonalds my friend.. sad but true.
Some people think the feet are the dirtiest parts of our bodies... I'd like for them to see this other yahoo post - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200711...

i flow barefoot in each and every form or eating places, and shops, and lots of places in public. it rather is not against any wellbeing code, or regulation. And why is it that bare ft supposedly entice and carry germs, yet shoes do not? Do shoes have some form of magical barrier on them to maintain germs away. Oh yea, they breed germs on the interior interior the warmth moist environment of closed up shoes. You grossed out each and every person is actual entitled to your opinion, yet do not tell me it rather is against the regulation! Barefoot Tex

I wouldn't say anything (however, I'd probably change seats) - but I would discuss you later. That's just rude and very unsanitary. I make my kids wash their hands before they eat, even at a fast-food restaurant. Plain rude... that's why most places say "no shoes, no shirt, no service". I think people that dress themselves in shoes and a shirt and a coat, should dress their children the same way, but they don't.

I probably wouldn't care or notice unless you were doing strange things like picking your toe jam while eating your fries.

Most restaurants don't allow people to come in with no shoes. If that were the case, I would not hesitate to ask you to leave or put on shoes.
