Texas Poll: Austin, Dallas, or San Antonio?
Which town has more appeal? I'm taking a mini-vacay next month, and I'm trying to figure out where I wanna go.
Austin has 6th street, so I'm leaning towards that. I also have friends that live there, so I wouldn't have to pay for a room. The downside is driving in Austin SUCKS. It frightens me.
Dallas has Deep Ellum, and is easy to navigate around, but I don't know anyone there.
San Antonio has a great metal scene, and the weekend I'm thinking about going, one of my fave metal bands is playing. Plus I can stay in San Marcos, where it's not as crazy. Also, I'm terrified of driving there as well.
Input?
I live in Texas, hence the MINI part of vacation... I get three day weekends so my debauchery can only last that long....

San Antonio!
Source(s): Lived in Austin for 9 mos. and 6th street is amazing. Only ever drove through Dallas. Spent 3 days in San Antonio and the Riverwalk is the best! I'd vote San Antonio if I had the chance to go again. Is Durty Nellie's still there? Had a blast in that place... - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

I live near Dallas so the city has gotten kind of boring to me, but there are definitely lots of things to see here.
Personally, I'd recommend San Antonio.

well, if those are your only choices, I would say Austin because you have friends there. otherwise I would say, get out of Texas. there are at least 45 states more interesting than texas
