How much would it cost to travel italy?
So I'm leaving school later in the year and doing the travel thing with friends.
We are planning on staying in hostels and backpacking (but not working) some of Italy and France perhaps Germany. Well thats what we would love to do.
But seeing as we do live in australia its AU$2000 return air fairs to get to europe (with quantas). Is it worth spendind 2000 in flights. if we are only staying for as long as $3000-4000 each can sustain us.
So how much money would it take to eat, live and see the sights cheaply in italy.
If we are too broke to do Europe then we are thinking asia.
How long will 3000-4000 dollars keep me going in italy. In cheap hostel accomadation.

I suggest in Europe you base yourself in only a few places and do day trips from your accommodation - Changing accommodation often is what eats up money.
I suggest in Italy to base yourself in either Rome or Florence. From Florence you can visit Venice, Pisa, Bologna, Cinque Terre, Rome etc very easily.
From Rome you can visit Florence, Naples, Capri, Sorrento, Pompeii etc on day trips.
Accommodation:
You're fortunate if you're going with a bunch of friends! Your best option is to rent apartments wherever you go. The shared costs will work out much cheaper than Hotels.
I suggest you limit eating out at restaurants and buy groceries (which are great in Italy) and cook for yourselves.
Other than accommodation and transport, food can be your next biggest expense.
Find some advice about apartment vacation rentals in Rome http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com/rome-vacation-r... you can also use it to check apartments anywhere in Italy and Europe.
I think you will be doing the right thing rather than a pre-arranged package tour,I prefer to be able to as much time in one place as I want to, and I prefer quality rather than quantity - sometimes I like to spend more time relaxing and taking in the culture (and maybe nightlife) rather than having to worry about waking up at 7Am to catch the tour bus.
For some help on how to find cheap flights to Italy see http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com/cheap-airline-t...
Hope that helps,
Cheers

That should be enough, if you and your friends split everything 50/50. When I went to Europe last year (france, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany) there were 4 of us and it was relatively cheap. Are you renting a car? How are you getting around?
Typically, hotels cost approx. 100 euros a night. Those are the cheap ones. It also depends WHEN you are going. During tourist season (summer, spring, etc.) the prices increase quite a bit. Even the really cheap ones increase. You want to watch just how cheap you do go, though, because some of the cheap hotels are total dives. I couldn't even sleep in some hotels we stayed in because they were just awful.
That amount will probably keep you there for a couple weeks, depending on how many of you are going.
email me if you have any questions! I've been to Europe twice, including Italy and Greece so I have a pretty good idea of costs :)

i think you confer with Borgo Serragli, in San Zenone degli Ezzelini, district of Treviso? I recommend to no longer attempt to bypass very some distance: in 3 weeks you may desire to bypass to correctly and thorough the area Veneto, vacationing with interior of sight trains that are somewhat no longer costly (or from time to time interior the vehicle pushed by ability of your loved ones contributors: "properly, what some holiday to Venice?!?"... even low-priced!) you may desire to work out eye-catching cities like Venice, Padua, Vicenza, Treviso, and (slightly greater some distance) Verona and Trieste, or spend some days on the beach (working example in Jesolo), without going too some distance and without spending too plenty funds. working example, a interior of sight prepare from Treviso to Venice costs in basic terms 2,35 euros, from Treviso to Verona (changing in Vicenza) 6,15 euros. in case you confer with a distinctive area, that's the comparable: attempt to stay in that area and to work out it without hurry (all Italy is packed with intesresting places to work out), and shuttle with interior of sight trains.
