my overall GPA is only a 3.36 :/

I took Algebra in eighth grade. Well, I was on the volleyball team all 3 years. My last year on the team is on it's way! I play club volleyball, and have been playing for years. I volunteer at the library and at the hospital. I started a music blog along with friends a few months ago, and it's been doing well. I've been singing in church choir for years. This summer, I'm helping out YMCA, and I have a job. I might be taking a Psych or Calculus class at a community college too.

The thing with me is that I don't have much extracurricular activities because I've dedicated myself to the stuff that is listed above.

I took the SATs in December and I only scored a 1710. I took them again in May but I scored lower for some reason. So I'm iffy about taking them a 3rd time. I don't know if I can improve my scores anymore. I'm thinking of taking the ACT with writing instead. I'm taking my subject tests in June.

I really feel like a failure, so maybe someone can help out. :/

thanks!

Actually, that last paragraph you wrote consists of what you could list as extracurriculars. I had an SAT score that was somewhat like yours and I got accepted into UCI. I took the SAT twice too, I believe.

You can go to the UC campus websites, check out the programs and see which appeal to you. In addition, I'd definitely recommend taking campus tours over the summer before you start your senior year, so you can get a feel of the school. You'll be able to tell which campuses you like and don't like (That's important when choosing colleges!)

Try checking collegeboard.com too. They've got admissions info on all the UC campuses.

You can also apply to Cal State Universities; easier to get into and the tuition there is cheaper if I'm not mistaken.

But just one bummer is that this past year, freshmen admissions had to go down due to budget cuts in education.

Your GPA isn't terrible. BUT you can always aim for a higher GPA in your senior year.

Just keep working hard, you'll get there. :]

that gpa is stable for any uc. it would nonetheless be stressful for ucla and berkeley although, in spite of a gpa like that. in case you have stable extracuriculars and sat scores then ur set.
