1User Account Control is built in protection of your computer running Windows Vista. Every time you attempt to start a program a pop up window will ask you to confirm that you want to run that program. This feature is highly controversial and is the butt of jokes from the Mac world. In theory it works, however it is possibly the most annoying thing ever created. So here is how to turn that rascal off.

2Click on Start, and then click on Control Panel. In Control Panel, click on User Accounts.

3In the User Accounts window, click User Accounts. In the User Accounts tasks window, click Turn User Account Control off. Uncheck the User Account Control (UAC) box and then click OK. Now restart the computer. This will stop the pop up however you will now have to battle the red shield and another pop up telling you that you have turned off UAC. You can either live with this or go into the Control Panel and click on "change the way windows notifies you" and turn that off too. I don't know what Microsoft was thinking on this one.

Hope it helps you. For more information http://www.iyogi.net/
