I have dsl lite for my internet connection through Northstate, is this good the speed of download/upload?
Download Speed: 653 kbps (81.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 211 kbps (26.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
What is this and what does this mean? I am connected through my phone company and it cost 27.00 a month. Any advice on this or something better?

Thats about the going rate in my part of florida. I personaly have cox cable for my internet at $35 for 1500kbps (200KB/sec).
As far as if your plan is good for you, you have to decide that. Are you here asking because you feel your speed is too slow? Then you should look at the other plans offered in your area. if you are thinking of watching movies at hulu.com or uploading large video files to youtube you may want to go a good bit higher.
