Basically it was a strong enough chassis that can be lowered and stiff springs and sway bars can be made with coaxing with the parking brake to slide the back wheels al long as you can catch the brake slide with full throttle application. Rear wheel drive cars work best for throttle induced oversteer. Unfortunately the 240SX did not come with a over 220 hp V6. Instead the 240sx came with a 140 hp pick up truck altima KA-2.4 liter long stroke 3.5" x 3.0 bore motor. Just not snappy enough to floor and get a good doughnut spin out. There are plenty of power adders Turbo chargers Japan spec 2.0 liter motors and muscle from GM LS-1 V-8 engine conversions? An old 1986 corolla will dust your car off because it was much lighter and had a beam rear axle. Less rear traction slides easier than the 240sx rear wheel independent rear suspension. There are many road racing 240sx that preform well enough in there SCCA classes. They are old now and endorcements for tires and parts are important so if you want to preform with the big boys drive new toys.

Bleh, a sports car? Not from the factory at least and certainly not in it's time when the Supra, Rx-7, 300zx were in their prime. The 2.4L engine packs a nice punch, however, for grandma maybe. The 2.4 only pumps out 155hp from the factory. So at the wheels it's probably around 130-140hp also putting into account that the motor's got some use on it. Notice that Honda can make much more power out of smaller motors :/ However, the motor does have the unique feature of it's torque, and when paired with a turbocharger, it's.. pretty nice :) jeewhiz I could write pages upon pages on just about everything there is! but I'll stop..

Where are you located ??? I am selling my 300zx, Its in perfect body condition and running conditions(Just need a little work that's all, but it runs great)... I don't wanna sell it, but i just had a baby and no more 2 seat-er for me! I must say i love cars!!! and i would definitely go with the 300zx(not only because i have one)! Yes there are a little harder to work on, not too expensive to maintain, BUT Worth all the hard work you put into it, Plus they are rare when they are fixed up and running. I have a one of a kind 1993 Nissan 300ZX Convert able top, custom CANDY PAINT color, 19' rims deep dish, a motor to go miles, and turns heads like no other sport car. That another plus with the 300zx, there is so much you can do to it and it only keeps looking better! Good luck and i hope you find what you truly want.

  • They were designed very well....both the 13 and 14 chassis. The s13's gave you multiple choices in style from the coupe, to the hatch and even convertible. As for drifting, since the car is RWD it made sliding fairly easy. Also since it is one of the most popular cars around right now, you can find so many different performance parts for them and even have a good selection of possible motors to swap in. Another thing I liked about the 240's was the interior. The car fit me perfectly. The manual transmission was so nice to drive. Shifting is smooth and the stock clutch was just right. All in all I think they are amazing cars.

It is the most popular Drift car in the world. Most of them have been turned into Drifters.

Almost all professional Drifters learned how to drift with one.

High resale value and good reliability and the chassis are made to handle lots of power.

It is a great car due to it's reliability and how easy and cheap (relatively) new parts are for it.

it is light and fairly powerful especially with a few mods under the hood which makes it a good drifting car.

They are very popular, exellent drift car as i know several people with amateur drift lisences who use them, mainly as they are well balanced and there engines are powerful and rev-happy, and of course rear wheel drive! good sports coupe, nicely designed and tons of aftermarket mods about. they can be cheap to pick up up and insurance isnt too bad for a near 200bhp car, so popular amoung young drivers. bottom end on engine does have tendency to go though.

My dad had it. It ran excellent. Until it got crashed and stolen. And yet it still would run. I loved it because of its comfortability, engine sound, and its all black interior and Exterior. Its retractable headlights were pretty cool too.
