Why can't Yahoo stop these spammers?

There are spammers out there who post the same spam answers over and over again. Every chance I get, I report them. I see them come back using the same exact name, providing the same exact posts over and over again. Will not Yahoo lift a finger to permanently ban these bastards is or is Yahoo totally useless? My guess is the latter. Is there anything else that can be done to stop this vermin?

Update:

Great answer whizzz. And how do we make such great suggestions directly to Yahoo? How do we make Yahoo act on these suggestions and clean up their site. Or is Yahoo jsut going to remain useless?

There is a serious flaw with yahoo allowing those that have been suspended to just open up new accounts. it's the same thing with all the users on here that get suspended on a regular basis and are allowed to just open a new account. Yahoo says they can't ban ip addresses so it is never going to stop and we should just keep reporting them which is an exercise in futility and totally frustrating. If when you report spammers all their stuff was removed at one time would be helpful, like a separate spam report tab and the url could be given so all the answers and questions could be gone in one step.

Yahoo doesn't have staff to do this stuff. And since this isn't a revenue generating part of yahoo they really don't care that much. Which is reasonable since yahoo is really not here to just provide free services.

U can't ban a specific IP address cuz what if it was a public library or something. Then u would ban all the patrons of the library...not something I think yahoo would like to do.

And then there are people who use a proxy each time they get on here and their IP changes each time so banning their IP would totally useless.

Just like the trolls who infest this site, the best action is to totally and completely ignore them. Spammers (like trolls) who never get any responses to their posts will eventually dry up and go away.

that could desire to require Yahoo admin to extremely take some valuable action in this service for as quickly as, battling the actual menaces instead of taking the hassle-free selection and handing out violation notices for the smallest and maximum insignificant 'crimes'. not gonna take place I worry.

They do, but, when people don't use the same IP address every time, it's much harder, and takes longer for them to permanently block people.

So, keep reporting them, try to get a grip, and they'll eventually be able to block them.
