My favorite activities are downhill skiing and going to White Sox games. And I like good wine. Also enjoy taking the 911 out for a spin from time to time. I live, work and play in Chicago and feel it is the best big city in the World. Hope to see you here sometime.

  • How do unvented air conditioners work?

    I understand the concept of air conditioners. How they use electrical energy to drive a pump that compresses a coolant and as that coolant decompresses it absorbs heat and releases cool. The process continues with the compression which creates heat which needs to be dissipated (normally to the outside) for the process to be effective. But in an unvented system where both heat and cool are released into the same room, while also adding the heat generated by the electrical motor, I don't understand how these units effectively cool.

  • Oil Change on 2005 911S?

    How often is an oil change needed/required on a 2005 Porsche 911S. The dealers say one thing and literature says others. With synthetic oil and difficult access oil changes are expensive and I just want to be sure I'm changing enough, but not too much.

  • English words that end with a period?

    Other than Ms. is there any word in the English language that ends with a period. Most (if not all) words that end with a period are abbreviations.

    Mr. = Mister

    abbr. = abbreviation

    etc. = Et cetera

    But in the English language:

    Ms. = Ms. There is no full spelling of the word Ms. It's an abbreviation for a word that apparently doesn't exist. Are there any other English words like this?

  • Hand sanitizer and hand moisturizer?

    In winter with cold dry air I know that you want to wash your hands before applying hand moisturizer. And I also know that you want to wash your hands first before applying hand sanitizer to be the most effective at preventing the spreading of germs and disease. But when you want to sanitize your hands and also keep them moist in the harsh winter weather, which do you apply first and which do you apply last to be most effective?

  • Does this impact my FICO score?

    I pay my bills in a timely manner each month. I pay off any credit card balance each month and pay no finance charges. The credit card I use most and have the largest credit line on just cut that credit line in half because they say I don't use it enough and I don't need such a large limit. Is this going to impact my FICO score?

  • Does anybody think spammers are ruining this thread?

    I sure do. Do you want to do anything about it? Do you think this is a losing battle? Does Yahoo even care? Or is Yahoo siding with the spammers? If you don't like it, you can do what I do and report every spam post you see. Are you with me on this??? Did I ask enough questions so Yahoo will leave this up? Or is Yahoo siding with the spammers?

  • Why can't Yahoo stop these spammers?

    There are spammers out there who post the same spam answers over and over again. Every chance I get, I report them. I see them come back using the same exact name, providing the same exact posts over and over again. Will not Yahoo lift a finger to permanently ban these bastards is or is Yahoo totally useless? My guess is the latter. Is there anything else that can be done to stop this vermin?

  • How to get spammers off of Yahoo Answers?

    Recently I've noticed a rash of spammers on Yahoo Answers. They provide the same exact spam answers to any question asked even if its not related to the question. I've gone to these scumbag's personal page and have reported their identical spam answers. Yahoo has taken many of the answers down. But they keep posting the same spam answers over and over again. Besides reporting the spam answers over and over again, how can we get Yahoo to permanently remove these vermin? Shouldn't they remove them after several reports? Shouldn't Yahoo have a special report where you can report a pattern of spam and only spam instead of just reporting individual answers? Can't we report the actual spammers instead of just their spam?

  • Are these the two most asked questions on Yahoo Answers?

    1) How can I make money online?

    2) Did anybody get their rebate check yet?

    And when will people stop asking as they've both been asked and answered thousands of times?

  • Are any of you offended by the freecreditreport.com ad?

    I'm talking about the ad where this guy working at a seafood restaurant is dressed in a Pirates outfit singing a catchy tune about how he has to work in this restaurant because his identity was stolen and he didn't check his credit report to find out. In my mind, it insults anybody who works at a restaurant, especially Long John Silvers. Also, I don't understand if he had a better job why he would have lost it and had to work at Long John Silvers just because his identity was stolen. A stupid and offensive ad in my mind.

  • Yahoo 360 doesn't connect with Yahoo Answers?

    I have a Yahoo 360 acount, but when I go to edit my Yahoo Answer profile to provide a link to that 360 account, I get this message:

    "360 nickname not found: Get my Yahoo! 360 account now!"

    What gives? I have a Yahoo 360 account. It is created already. When I click on the link that says: "Get my Yahoo! 360 account now!" it takes me to my 360 account. This is crazy!

  • I can't make posts on Yahoo Message boards anymore.?

    Every time I try to post I get this message: "Atleast one identity should be chosen." I have 5 identities (3 of which do not appear to work including my main identity which automatically pops up on the drop down box). Seems to be a problem with Yahoo, but I don't know how to get Yahoo help on a Yahoo problem.
