Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and the Yahoo Answers website is now in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Does anybody think spammers are ruining this thread?

I sure do. Do you want to do anything about it? Do you think this is a losing battle? Does Yahoo even care? Or is Yahoo siding with the spammers? If you don't like it, you can do what I do and report every spam post you see. Are you with me on this??? Did I ask enough questions so Yahoo will leave this up? Or is Yahoo siding with the spammers?

Update:

Excellent points by the numbers. But I will keep trying as well as I hope you will. Thanks for contributing.

I think that yahoo kills the spammer accounts. If you look at them , they are almost always only a few days old. The problem is that it is very easy to create a new account when the old one is banned.

I report spammers about 60% of the time, the rest of the time I just give it a thumbs down. The reason is because thumbs down is 1-click and immediate, whereas spam marking takes longer:

    1) Click to report abuse

    2) Scroll down

    3) Click for type of abuse

    4) Type spam info

    5) Click to confirm abuse

    6) Click to return to question

Also, when you have peopel asking questions like "How do I make money without investing and without working?" , some of the "spam" answers address the question (it's hard to prove they are scams).

It is like the drug trade: if there were no customers, there would be no dealers. There are obviously lazy people clicking the links looking for easy money, otherwise the spammers would quit on thier own..

    [edit] case in point:

    31 answers

    27 of them spam

    13 already removed by yahoo

of the 14 remaining, 12 accounts were created today, making them newer than the question they answered!
