I think if you choose to eat honey, which is an animal product, than technically by the original definition you are not vegan (so 0%). However, being a perfect vegan is next to impossible, consuming and otherwise harming animals by accident does happen. People who are veg exist on a continuum and do the best they can to avoid causing harm to others as they gain more information.

I am vegan and do not eat honey. But for example, until a few years ago I did not really think about the origins of or did not know that the "malt" in a chocolate malt drink comes from "malted milk" so I thought adding it to a soy milk shake would not be a problem if I was ever given the opportunity. A waitress at a vegetarian restaurant kindly asked me if I was aware that it was not vegan when I ordered a vegan shake with malt added. *smacks forehead*

So while not technically vegan, I am sure there are some people who identify themselves as vegans because honey not being vegan just never occurred to them. And there are others who are just transitioning to veganism, and may identify as vegan while they are early in the process of switching, and having slips here and there or using up non-vegan items in their pantry before buying new vegan staples.

Personally, I love my agave nectar from Whole Foods!
