My husband and I are getting ready to move to Ft Benning, GA. Can anyone tell me what on-post housing is like?

Are only the new houses nice or is the whole post like that? Also how long is the wait list for housing? Thank you in advance for your help!

There is no current wait. If your husband is an E4 or below you only qualify for the old housing. There are two open currently. The first is one story, with wood floors.Small and old, the second is dubbed a "townhouse" the stairs are very steep and are wood, then there is a mix of wood and linolium through out. Those are a bit bigger.

If he is an E5 or above, however, they just built brand new homes and they are beautiful and very up to date. You should be able to get right into one.

submit housing could be ok, they have some new stuff. additionally they have some turn-of-the-nineteenth-century stuff. until you, and your loved ones, spend maximum of a few time on submit, you will % to pass off submit. The south Columbus area basically outdoors of fortress Benning is the skankyist area of city. The as quickly as effective subdivisions like Oakland Park and Benning Hills are populated meth labs. Any respectable procuring, ingesting or sport is going to be a minimum of 5 miles east or 5 miles north of the biggest gate. in case you pass off-submit, attempt to stay north of Macon street (go out 6 off of I-185). areas like Mohina Woods, Hilton Heights and Lakebottom/Weracoba are relatively effective, and that they have common accessibility to the line that is going suited into the biggest gate.
