How can I play The Sims 3 in a window mode and not full screen?

What you need to do is pull up the cheat code bar when you're in game. Which is ctrl+shift+C for most PCs and ctrl+shift+windows start key+C for HP laptops with Vista. Then you type in "Fullscreen off" without the quotes. That'll do it.

Hi. I got The Sims 3 today, and I just have one problem. I would like to play the game in a window mode and not full screen. When I'm using full screen, I can't do other things, like starting and stopping music. Will "-w" work like The Sims 2? Or do I have to do something else.

Well what I do when I want to access another program while playing is I click the window's flag key on the keyboard (bottom left in between alt and ctrl) and it minimizes it and opens the start menu.

the -w in the target thing doesn't work. It's super annoying. If anyone else knows how to run the game in the window mode, that would be really helpful.

Alt + tab key lets you window out.
