    Would also take Patton.

The person playing in the number 1 jersey needs to be able to play their own position before they run around and try and play everyone else's.

EDIT: Knights, how many tries did Gidley setup? How many of his kicks found space? How many times was he caught out of position in defence? How many times did he just genuinely f*ck up? He was woeful tonight and the fact you can't see that speaks volumes about your myopia.

Knights, you are hilarious! You laugh at whole kicks in space call, saying it's not like he's a halfback, well let me tell you something, he had the #1 jersey on last night but he certainly wasn't playing fullback. I'm still trying to work out what he was.

You say he "f*cked up" 3 times, yet go on to say he was out of position a few times. If he's out of position and Queensland capitalise on it, which they did, you have to add it to the f*ck up list. I just watched the highlight reel on ABC2 and what did they show. Gidley's knock on, his no tackle on Inglis and Thurston finding him out of position. That's in a brief highlights reel! The funny thing is, there is still plenty more things he did wrong and was caught out on, but you still can't admit that Gidley didn't play well.

Hayne to Fullback, Monahan to be called into the wing, Campese dropped, Soward to Standoff, Wallace (send him back to Brisbane) Kimorley (the most inform half from NSW in the NRL season) to halfback, Gidley to the bench to play floater.

Kite to be dropped and Fitzgibbon in and maybe the rest can remain. I would swap McManus also but I can't think of anyone playing good enough at this point so he lives another day.

I agree that Stewart will be a big benefit to the team and would've been the difference and I have to agree with Diet that as much as I like him Gidley choked and in this level of League sometimes you only have 1 shot to prove your case. He is lucky that I still considered him for the bench but he can't get away with the way he played and make the starting line up again. Luke O'Donnell had a stand out game and I would make him my captain.

jsinista - If you think Barrett should be in the squad then you might as well Cancel the rest of the S.o.O and just tell them to hold on to the Cup until next year when we can come up with a real team. O'Donnell dropped, haha, he was pretty much the only forward matching it up in Defense and attack, the Dragon boys played well but on defense to many forwards were the nowhere men. Wing to start and Farah to come on later as I think Wing offers more during the starting period in both Defense and Attack, but Farah on when the forwards are getting tired will be the best plan.

I don't think there is too much to panic about. The team was raw and it showed but they got a good lesson out of this game and they fought back from 24-6 to 24-18 against a side that has the Australian backline. The last try is really immaterial as the game was over NSW couldn't win it after the knock on and for-and-against means **** all so in the grand scheme of things losing by 6 or 10 means nothing, they still lost.

I'd say don't change anything...except maybe get rid of Lyon. He did do well for Wing's try but I think there are better centres out there for NSW and I don't know why the Wolfman couldn't get on the wing given how dynamic he is in attack. In fact even if NSW losses this series I think that finally we are seeing some fresh new talent in the squad that points towards a much brighter future. The forwards were good, maybe in the next game if Weyman and Poore at still in they'll start the game. I think NSW looked better when they were on the field.

Don't get me wrong, i'm a massssssssssssssssive brett stewart fan

But theres just so many good fullbacks in league today its hard to decide who is 'the best'.

But i just have to say this... people saying billy slater is the best///

    seriously

he lost 40-0 in a grand final and he makes so many mistakes, he can't possibly be far out the best.

I think Brett should be back in the NSW squad, because they need him badly.

But about the "Best Fullback in the League" tag, I don't think he's the best, Billy Slater is much better, and is the BEST FULLBACK IN THE LEAGUE.

Being a staunch Queenslander i thought NSW did not play too bad last night,Craig Wing should have been in the run on side.Haynes played well and was definately the stand out for NSW, but i don't think he will be able to run in origin 2.I don't know if it was a good idea to blood so many rookies at the same time, but generally they performed well. The pace of origin football is a shock to the system, and i think the next game will be a narrower margin in the final scores.Qld want to tighten up there defence, otherwise they are going to get knocked off in game 2.

I'm a massive fan of Karmicheal Hunt, but the best fullback in the world was wearing the #1 for QLD tonight.

We haven't seen you on the Yahoo league forums for ages Bongo - where have you been? Most of us Dead Threaders are still there, but under different usernames.

Hahaha quit pulling ya pud mate! You are kidding yourself! Yeah he is one of the best, but not the best, Gidley will keep his spot sorry champ

Ha Luke Patten? How dumb. NSW needs an actual amazing player at fullback who has the ability and heart to match Slater & to play where he is needed, not a rat who gets smashed

Lol Okay DietFist lets get this straight, so Gidley had a shocker game because

    1. He didnt set up a try... Um okay

    2. His kicks never found ground (lol did he even kick in the game? lol Why even say this its not like his a halfback who needs to kick and find space)

    3. I think he "f*cked up" 3 times in 80 mins which is very rare

    4. Yeah he was out of position a few times but thats the player he is, he saves tries, he is always there to bring the ball back, coaches are well aware of the style he plays, sometimes it doesnt work in his favour but most of the time it does.

Yep, that sure made him have a shocker game lol Seriously? What the hell man! If they are the only reasons for someone to have a shocker game than what the hell are you doing supporting the Tigers!

I said he didnt have his best game, but he didnt have a shocker. Keep talking sh!t mate, Im over it, you are the only regular on here & the only person I know who is ripping on Gidley so much, so it tells me something about you mate

We definately need Brett Steward, I wish the NSW selectors quicky change the line up before the next game.

    # 1 - Brett Steward remove Kurt Gidley

    # 7 - Craig Wing remove Wallace

and we should be ok for the next game...I believe the BLUES WILL STRIKE BACK in game 2
