where do you go for help with PTSD when you go to the VA and all they give you is a workbook?

I went to the VA cause I started having flashbacks and nightmares among other things and all they gave me was a workbook and told me that they would see me in 6 mths. I got a purple heart and a bronze star I think I deserve better than this. Don't you?

Go to your local vet center. They will help you now. VA is a sick joke.

    Contact me via email...

    I am a VSO...

And YES you do deserve Far better Treatment

    than just a Hand Book...and a 6 month wait...

I take it you never even seen a Mental Heath Professional ???

Meaning a Psychiatrist or Psychologist ???

Here is a number to call...

"If you are in Emotional Crisis Call

    1-800-273- TALK...1-800-273-8255

    PRESS 1 for VETERANS..."

I would also call your Congressperson asap...

Would also file a claim for PTSD...

They say that treatment of soldiers with PTSD is getting better, and we know that it is not. I would recommend that you get in touch with tricare ( if you have 'tricare for life')to see what is covered and see if you can get a referral from the VA to get counseling off post.
