How is the following question "being too specific"?

I was looking on market stalls this morning for cards (I.E: special occasions etc... like b*day's/x-mas etc...) with either a fox or a bee on it and the lady at thye first stall I looked at said this: "You're being too specific."

I would like other people's opinion on this as I don't believe I was being too specific at all.

Was I "being too specific" or was she being too arrogant?

Many thanks XD

Update:

One last teeny bit of detail:

Dad is a beekeeper and my girlfriend loves foxes

Update 2:

ΣΩ guy she didn't even hint at what cards she did have as she never once said "I have thse and these would be great for a birthday card" etc... therefore she wasn't being like that to me...

sowwy to bust ya bubble like that but honestly she should have said (this is what my mum said): "Unfortunately I just ran out of those cards"

but thanks for ya help anyway XD

anyone else got other opinions? XD

if you had your own preference on what type of card you would like then the lady had no right to say that to you. If she wanted to say something like that then she needed to keep it to herself instead of sharing...and personally I would have said some not to nice words to the lady if she were to come and say that to me.

You WERE being specific, but as you point out in additional details, you had a good reason to be.

I gather from "The Games people play" (Eric Berne) that it's a fairly standard sales technique. You're supposed to get a bit upset, and respond like a child and therefore be far more susceptible to being told WHAT to buy. If you didn't react in the way she EXPECTED then you maybe threw her sales patter completely

She just wanted you to buy whatever she had. And as she didn't have what you wanted she gave you some silly reason. You aren't being too specific if that's what you want, cause that's what you want.

I don't think she was arrogant either, sales people say things to get you to to buy their products. So she was just trying to get you to think about some other options.

    Hi

She did not have what you wanted. She had something that she wanted to sell. She wanted to talk you into buying what she had to sell. This is very common in sales.

You were too specific in that your desires did not fit her stock.

You're not being specific. The lady was just being rude, she should have helped you find one.
