    From http://www.herownwoman.com/ats.html:

    "The Essure Method

The Essure method is a new method of sterilization that does not require surgery or general anasthesia. Two micro-inserts are implanted into the fallopian tubes vaginally; similar to the way an IUD is inserted. The inserts cause the fallopian tubes to grow over them during the next three months, causing permanent blockage. Birth control must be used until the three-month checkup is performed and the tubes are officially declared blocked.

As Essure is essentially an invention of the 21st Century, there is no long-term data available about the procedure. So far there is nothing to indicate it will not provide long-term protection against pregnancy. If the Essure method does not block the tubes completely (as has happened to a few women who have had the procedure done), it cannot be relied upon to prevent pregnancy."

I found this by using a search engine. I highly recommend this method of getting answers to simple questions, as otherwise you're likely to have people come in and give completely false information. For instance, one person said Essure is not having sex, and yet Essure is a method of birth control which allows a woman to have sex without having to worry about getting pregnant.

I'm in your situation too, I enquirerd about a UID but they are meant to be painful to insert if you haven't had any children yet. I don't know what country you are in, but in the UK they don't seem to do essure. It's meant to be less intrusive than getting your tubes tied tho. I think vasectomy is the best operation, it's a simpler operation than getting tubes tied and doctors are more likely to give it to a man than a woman.

methods and procedure are different things. you can do something such as take birth control pills, but a procedure would be getting your tubes tied. You need to state your question better.
