We are a powerful nation of ppl of every kind. Ppl have been saying now that Obama's Prez race relations will be good. They need to wake up and get real. The Klan has made and will continue to make threats on Obama's life. If everything was fine why do you think Obama is the only President in American history to need more security than all the rest? He does set a good example and is a role model for those of mixed race though.

"Feel better"? "A hard life"? I am of mixedrace,Black and White, and believe me, I didn't need a President of the exact same racial makeup to feel good about myself. I've always felt pretty good about myself, and if anyone happened to "frown" upon me, it didn't mean anything to me, because I always realized it was their bigoted problem, not mine.

I'm sorry to interject a little reality here but many people of mixed race and interracial families don't happen to be incessantly 'frowned upon' nor have incredibly hard lives.

Note to Leonel: the majority of African-Americans are not "ghetto" nor live in the projects. Most Black Americans are working-class, middle-class, and some upper middle class to wealthy. Many Black Americans have not lived in the projects in their entire lives, own their own homes, and are solidly middle-class Americans (such as my own mother's family). Educate yourself a little before making ignorant assertions about a community you know nothing about.

The prez is black,let me explain.He does not look white,he does not sound white,his father is black,when you add that all together it = black guy.I know people that are mixed try hard to make everyone see them as white but give it a rest you are never going to be white.Accept the fact that you are a black person with a white parent.

I am mixed and need no kind of president to boost my self-esteem. I'm wonderful just as I am. Now we can have a white president, black president, Asian present, Mexican president, Native American president............a mixture of any kind of president. I'm still me and that is enough. (smile)

I always had self esteem. I didn't even Vote for Obama, so even though it's good for him that he made history, he's not a big influence on my life.

he has no relation to american blacks. He was raised by a white woman, his sister was white, his step dad was white and his dad was a black arab from Kenya and he lived like a spoiled white person, how does he have any relation to ghetto black people from the projects? He may consider himself black racially, but culturally and socially he is nothing like american blacks.
