I have a 96 L/R Discovery. , and have severe electrical problems?
The airbag warning light is permanately on, the cruise control is non functional, and at times the deadlock, via the remote will not allow me to start the engine. Take it to Land Rover and get them to pull the code from your computer..I almost garuntee the Engine Management System is on its way out. Its the brains of the car.

I would start by replacing the computer. Im not familiar with Land Rovers but it sounds as if the ECM might be going bad. It will probably be quite expensive on a land rover too.
