Ok so I read a story in a magazine,
this woman thought "lol" stood for "Lots of Love", and anyway her friends mum died suddenly, so she text her friend saying "sorry to hear about your mum, lol"
I thought that was hilarious, sad but hilarious

if someone sent me that i would have been like WTF!!!!!
i would have flipped a ***** and when they told me that they thought it meant "lots of love" i would have said bullshit and then killed them then sent a text to their mother and said "Sorry i murdered your son HAHAHAHA lol"
