Can you help me figure out what game this is?

several years back i went to an arcade, and played this fighting game i really loved. unfortunately i can't seem to remember the name of this game. all i remember is that after a game over your character falls down a pit, and continues to fall while waiting for you to insert more coins. if you fail to put more coins in the slot before the timer reaches zero, your character falls onto a bed of spikes and blood sprays everywhere. which game is this?
