What is the big deal about women breast feeding in public?

The thought of you breastfeeding is such the turn on B'eer I don't think the ladies could take seeing YOU BFing in public! Please don't torture us with the sight of your Manly Moob! Just too Arousing! You can watch me breastfeed if you like!

Bluntly, people are offended by ****.

It's not usual or socially acceptable for a girl to get her breasts out in public, and so when one does, even for the purpose of breast feeding, it's met with some confusion or disdain.

I think breast feeding's definitely a good thing, but I still feel a little confused and uncomfortable to see a woman doing it in public, it feels like it should be something private or special. But that's just me! You asked for an explaination, you got one!

You would think in this day & age topics like these would be a thing of the past as ppl should be more civilised and have adapted to life in general but of course you know you will find the few bad seeds in between. A lot of folks have not & will not accept that breast on a woman for mainly one purpose & that is to supply their babies with food not for men or otr women to fullfil their "erotic fantasies". Ppl just need to get a grip & face reality. I'm still breastfeeding my 9 mth old (10 mths in 4 days) & bet your bottom dollar when we're out in public if & when she wants to nurse she's getting it I simply make sure that i'm well covered. If someone has a problem with me breastfeeding my child in public or wherever I invite you to walk up & say something, I'm sure you won't make the mistake of approaching someone else again

There's nothing at all wrong with breast feeding in public. It's completely natural and most women are pretty discreet.

What I don't like is when you change the dirdy didee in the restaurant or in a closed compartment with lots of people - like an airline cabin or train car.

Because there are allot of perverted sick people out there, Who get turned on just by the fact that there is an infant drinking milk from a breast. I think public breast feeding is sick.. sorry.

In our country breasts are so commercialized that many forget that they are first and foremost there to feed our children. Many people feel uncomfortable when they see a breast feeding mother. I fed my children whenever and where ever they needed it. I just either covered up, or moved to a more private location. I really did not care what anyone though, I just did what was best for my baby.

I am probably the only one on this site against the norm;; but then what's the big deal about grabbing your crotch in public, fixing your wedgie, picking your nose, having sex, swearing in public, combing your hair @ the dinner table, smoking, puking, walking into a store without a shirt (for guys..LOL), allowing your dog to jump on people, arguing.. on & on... there's a time & place for everything.. talk about civilized.. these are all "natural" things we do.. big problem is, that people take advantage of it.. there is a special bond between mother & child during breatfeeding;; I just don't think it's "public";; I also have a problem with parents who change their kid's diaper's in public.. not so open minded?? then I go back to that term "civilized";; I am a parent, & a mother @ that!! sorry. "can't behave civilized, don't go out" is my philosophy...isn't that what we try to teach our kids when they go out to dinner with us???

There really isn't anything wrong with it, just make sure your not flashing people and exposing everything. Some people just make a big deal about it being a "private thing", but lets face it, if your baby is hungry, it usually cannot wait.

when women are out and about they're isn't room in the bathrooms to breastfeed a baby so place to sit down so as long as use a blanket to cover the baby's head and breast than its all good

There is no "big deal" about women breastfeeding in public.

I support breastfeeding too, but I also support formula feeding. I guess I am pro "feed your child" for some strange reason.
