People who say puppies cannot hold their pee for more than 5 hours are liars.?

I adopted a yorkie about 1 month ago. The person who gave him to me had paper and pee pad trained him (very annoying). I am crate training him now and taking him out to relieve himself, but he just won't do it. I did the whole thing, back to the crate for 5 mins, out of the house, back and forth for nearly 4 hours and just would not go. I am don't want the dog to pee in the house anymore but he just won't pee outside. It has been 8 hours now. I don't know what else to do.

And yeah i tried taking the pee pad and the newspaper out. No luck. I also bought this simple solution thing..he does not bulge. Is there anything else i need to do to make him pee outside? Help

Update:

my puppy is 12 weeks. I stayed out with him a good 3 hours. He doesn't pee outside. I moved the paper close to the door he peed. I just think it's wrong to train dog to pee on pad. i am very aggravated..

The ability to hold it, relates to the age of the puppy. The younger they are, the less bladder control they have. Put the papers down in the house, in an area close to the door, and gradually move them closer to the door until you can bring them right outside it. It's possible that you're just giving up too soon. The longer you keep him out, the better the chance of him going outside.

If you have a puppy that holds it for more than 5 hours your puppy needs to see a vet. A puppy's bladder is very small and they can't hold it for more than 2 hrs.. At least a healthy puppy

Some adult dogs don't hold their pee for more than 5 hours...

A puppy that is sick or is not hydrated enough holds it for that long.

Walk him. Leash him up and walk him down the road. He'll pee.
