Question about seizures in my 18 month toddler Last month around the 5 of may my son had a seizure.?
The hospital said it was due to fever (febrile seizure) sent him home same day said alternate between tylenol and motrin every 4 hrs. OK did that the next day same time he had another seizure lasted 1-2 minutes Dr said take him to the ER did that. He was admitted for about 5 days. They ran test to see why he was having fever, couldn't find anything said it was a virus ok. Sent him home after about 5 days. June 4th Thursday had a seizure started vommoting called the ambulance after about 4 minutes of seizing, amvulance came he was still seizing over 20 minutes finally ER gave him some medicine to stop the seizure. He was of course admitted again. Oh and when ambulance was called his fever per the ambulance paramedic was only 100.4 but, anyway they ran more test on him. They took fluid from his spine to see if he has meniginuts (SP?) negative they checked for invections through blood, urine, stools. Found nothing! They did an EEG but I have to take the EEG results to a neurologist to let him read them. The Tech that ran the EEG test said they looked fine but couldn't give me a definite because reading the results was not her job and she didn't want to give a wrong info. Im scared how do I sleep at night. Im more than scared Im terrified. What do I do

Seizure are a scary and frightening thing, but if its any relief they are very rarely anything dangerous or life-threatening.
So far, from my experience, he seems to be getting the appropriate work up and evaluation. Tech's are not trained to read the nuances of an EEG so wait for the neurologist to give you a definite answer. The neurologist should be able to direct you to the right doctor should his EEG come back normal, and if abnormal should be able to easily treat him with medication. I would also make sure that an MRI is done to check for structural abnormalities that could cause seizures. A cardiac work up would also be beneficial to pin-point the cause.
Seizures that begin in infancy can sometimes relieve themselves as the child gets older as well.
My best advice to you is to trust your doctor and develop a good relationship with him/her. And know that though frightening it is not dangerous and they are going to figure it out.
If you have more questions or need help in anyway, please feel free to email me. Best wishes to your family : )

My daughter suffered 2 strokes at 15 months and had comparable seizures, different than she by no potential cried. They by no potential somewhat ought to come to a decision why, yet whilst they ran her blood gases, her sodium & potasium ranges have been way off. They at last exceeded, yet she substitute into on phenabaratrol (spelling??) for awhile. in simple terms examine with different medical doctors, and hound them for solutions. you're suitable in thinking that's no longer suitable. i do no longer understand what section you're in, yet locate your close by youngster's well being facility, and initiate there. perhaps they should confess him to work out one among those spell's first hand. stable good fortune! additionally - whilst they did a CT test the strokes did no longer coach...they did an MRI and have been waiting to come across them, so perhaps additionally they ought to be doing extra indepth testing.
