sims 3- virtual memory-very slow pleaseee answer!!?

okay.. that may not of made any sense. but i have 30 percent disk space (memory) left after i dowloaded the game.. and it is fast when uploading the game but when i actually go to play it.. its just soo frustratingly slow. i exit out of it (ctrl esc) then the whole computer is slow and telling me that my virtual memory is too low so i went and changed it from 750 to 999 and the max is 2099 and its still going slow

what do i need to set it to? do i need to clear MORE disc space up

also it keeps closing the game and restarting my laptop.

is it coz its a laptop?

i paid 80 bucks (aus) for this game and was so phyed now im just frustrated and annoyed

is there anything i can do to make the game quality better?

i mean.. i have to wait something like 3 seconds for it to actually o the command i asked it to.. like move the screen right

trust me there is enough memory

should i boost the virtual memory even more?

Yeah.. you guys arent making any sense.. I dont have internet on my laptop as it is used only to play games... so what you guys are saying. is there is no way that the games going to work because i only have 504 MB of RAM?

im still confused.

    Virtual memmory is space on the Hard drive that the computer uses to temporarily store information when you don't have much RAM (random access memory) in your computer to utilize. I would suggest right finding out how much RAM you have by simultaneously pressing the "windows key" and "R" at the same time, then type in "dxdiag" that will show you have much ram you have. Since its a laptop you may not have enough ram since your graphics processor is probably using system ram to power it. If the dxdiag shows you using 512mb - 1024mb of ram you may get by with just buying more at newegg.com I may be able to further assist you in fixing the problem if you can tell me what laptop you are using or the system specs.

    you need more system ram thats why your computer is grabbing virtual ram (hard drive space which is extremly slow)

    lets say you have 512 mb of system ram and the game needs 1.5 Gb of ram to run. and you allocate 2GB of virtual ram (hard drive)

    you wont get any better perfomance because virtual ram is way to slow

    so even when you shut the game down then you have no virtual ram left to run your system either.

    confusing i know but the jist of the whole thing virtual ram is not a substitute for vram

    Virtual memory is used by the system often when there's a lack of Ram memory. It is often an indication that your Ram memory needs upgrading.

    Of course you can increase virtual memory but that won't help much because virtual memory is slow compare to Ram memory.

    Upgrade your Ram memory and the problem will vanish.

    Did you check your ram and GB space? That's usually the most important and will determine how fast your game runs. Mine isn't slow but it closes out randomly because my display driving stops working. Vista blows.

    TONS of people have been complaining about the game closing randomly or shutting down their computers... hopefully they'll fix the glitch soon.

    You have memory (RAM) confused with storage (disk space). You probably need more RAM and a better video card. Unfortunately you cannot upgrade the video card on a laptop (you can upgrade the RAM though). Perhaps if you listed your computer specs here we could better advise you.

    have you ever checked each and all the standards, alongside with the image video card? If that is working sluggish i could think of you the two do no longer meet the standards or have the minimum. i'm so sorry it relatively is occurring nonetheless. even make particular to aim uninstalling and reinstalling the interest without the different courses working. stable success!

    but like you and other ppl who have bought the sims 3

    it does close on me or w.e.

    i think that maybe you should buy a USB Flash Drives

    this should help, since your pc is slow

    or just buy or install and upgrade a new hard drive to your loptop
