help on fixing a ground wire?

some advice i have a cd player in my car but all the sudden the lights went out on it and i cant get it to play and same with my cigarette lighter in my car it wont light so advice or help will really be appreciated thanks

    Sounds more like you blew a fuse. Look for it.

    The cig. lighter grounds directly to the vehicle metalwork, usually. So more likely the power is out, not the grounding.

    Start over my friend.

    Get a test light and try to find out what is hot or what is a ground.

    But i wouldn't use the cigg light for a source inless you have a fuse on the power to the CD player.
