The Brush and the Baton True or False ?

" The Brush and the Baton "

The artist uses his brush much the same,

as a conductor uses his baton.

The colors on his palette,

are like players in an orchestra.

Each performing their particular tasks.

The players perform and interact together.

Becoming one with each other.

To create a beautiful melody.

So too the artists colors become one,

on his canvas.

And create a beautiful painting.

A haunting melody lasts through the ages.

Much the same way a beautiful painting does.

Art and music are alike in many ways.

They both start with a thought and a dream.

Then they both become a reality.

They are passed down through the ages.

To be appreciated by generations to come.

Life as we know it, would not be the same.

Without the brush and baton.

Hmmm...I'd have to say "false"...it's a good image, but the artist is more like the composer who combines notes instead of colors on a sheet of music instead of a canvas. The conductor only accentuates what's already there, they don't "create" new sound combinations from individual notes played in a chord or from different instruments. The parallel for a conductor would probably be an art critic, who can draw attention to nuances such as stroke, tone, texture, symmetry, etc., otherwise unseen or unnoticed until articulated, in a painting. As far as the poem itself, it's fairly well constructed with good images and consistent voice.
