I did this copy over 40 years ago for a good friend of mine and now i would like to know if anyone knows who did the original painting. The name of the painting and the artists name and a link to the original if you know it.

The Abyss Of Mans Mind

Souls cast not a shadow on this earth.

No light or darkness where souls exist.

Hidden in the abyss of mans mind,

lies the body the flesh and the being.

Lingering between Heaven and Hell,

is the existing force known as the soul.

That inner spark which creates the thoughts,

and actions in us all.

The abyss of mans mind,taking form

through living tissue known as the body.

Ever changing with its capacity for reason,

knowing truth accepting doubt.

Loving,hating all at the same instance.

This, the force,feelings and memories living in this breathing body which will someday die and decay,leaving only the soul.

And souls cast not a shadow on this earth.

A Sculptors Vision

A boy staring at a piece of marble.

A stranger on his journey stops.

Why do you stare so long and hard

at that stone asked the stranger?

Well Sir, I see all the beauty inside of it.

I see nothing but stone,said the stranger.

The boy than replied,

I see beauty and love,caring and sorrow.

I see a mothers love for her child.

I see tears and death.

With that the stranger shook his head,

turned and walked away.

Little did he realize,

that the young boy was "Michelangelo".

Who later in life would go on to sculpt,

the "Pieta".

" The Brush and the Baton "

The artist uses his brush much the same,

as a conductor uses his baton.

The colors on his palette,

are like players in an orchestra.

Each performing their particular tasks.

The players perform and interact together.

Becoming one with each other.

To create a beautiful melody.

So too the artists colors become one,

on his canvas.

And create a beautiful painting.

A haunting melody lasts through the ages.

Much the same way a beautiful painting does.

Art and music are alike in many ways.

They both start with a thought and a dream.

Then they both become a reality.

They are passed down through the ages.

To be appreciated by generations to come.

Life as we know it, would not be the same.

Without the brush and baton.

" The Four Seasons "

The passing years, "Four Seasons

as always come and go

like all the Summer flowers

that die 'neath Winter's snow.

Yet comes the Spring as always it will

to push aside old Winter's chill

then once again when flowers bloom,

and Spring, it does break through

to rid the world of all its gloom

and bring me thoughts of you.

The wet and lonely streets I walk

when Fall it does arrive

with leaves of gold and brown,

all piled side by side.

In a puddle I see, reflections of one

under a deep, deep sky of blue,

But thinking back through all the seasons

and remembering when there were two.

I wrote this for my daughter who recently lost her best companion

her Labrador retriever. And I'm just curious as to what you all think about it.

I dedicate this To Harley, for my loving daughter, Jodi

My Harley, Sweet Harley

Throughout all these years,

you've stayed by my side,

through my joys and my tears,

which I can't hide.

And when I'm down and feeling blue,

I only have to look over at you.

With Just one glance from your sweet eyes,

it makes me think and realize

that loving you with all my heart

is how I want all of my days to start.

Our early walks, along the misty beach,

with you at my side, just at arms reach.

My protector, my love, I can count on you

to protect me from harm, as I protect you.

Companions, we are, and were from the start,

the moment I saw you, and you stole my heart.

My Harley, Sweet Harley, in passing I say,

you will be remembered by me

till my dying day.
