You can argue that Gasol vibrated the rim in a way that altered the shot but that would have been a pretty tough call.

That's not a goaltend, Gasol didn't offset the rim enough to change the shot. Lee shot it way too hard anyway. Lee had a lay up and missed, end of story.

Yeah, but it didn't affect the ball's movement at all. His hand hit the rim before the ball even hit the backboard; by the time the ball hit the front of the rim the hand wasn't near any of that area.
But he should have made the shot!!!
Magic will come back, don't worry.

What about Howard's block in the first quarter? His hand went through the rim to block Gasol's shot, those 2 points cancel each other out, so no.

EDIT: So 2pts in the first quarter isn't as important as 2pts on a game winning shot? If the Lakers held a 2pts lead with 9sec to go then Magic would have to foul then Lee wouldn't even get that opportunity.

What about the dunk at the beginning of the game by Pau Gasol that was blocked by Howard by sticking his hand through the hoop to block it? That was more of a goal tend than what you are talking about.

NO DUDE..is no the lakers fault that Orlando can make a mistake so huge like they did...the lakers won fair..we all knew on overtime that Orlando had nothing against the lakers...

It can't be goaltending if the defensive player never touch the ball.

Yeah he missed it, but I don't think that affected the shot.
He should of made that.
