    normally a sunshade is just that. a device for making a shade under which a person shelters. sun glasses are specifically made for shading just the eyes but the term 'shades' has been adopted for sunglasses to so modern classification can have both sunglasses and 'shades' as meaning the same thing.

    correct usage of meaning will differentiate between the two.
