Image problem question?

I found a cartoon image that has a white background like its just the character on the white background. I copied the image and put in paint and it comes out in a square with the white background, everytime i drag the image the white background comes with the picture. How do i drag the image so it would only be the image not the white background with it. So when i drag the image to a black image (only black) it would be the image not the white image.

And also if there is a picture with a diff color background how do i make background of the image white with the character there.

Open the cartoon image in Corel or Photoshop or whatever program you are using.

Select the magic wand on the white background. It will highlight it. Go in the Tool menu or Format, select INVERT IMAGE.

Now copy / paste it on a new page but, when you open a new page, make sure you click on NO BACKGROUND. Now, copy/paste it on there and save it.

You'll need something like Paint Shop Pro to make the image a transparent gif.
