How does Anorexia really work?
People always say by not eating you wont lose weight they say because the body goes into starvation mode and keeps the weight. Well I was watching intervention and that's apparently not true. So my question is how much weight will a person lose if they DO NOT eat in a month? Also in a day. How do you think that they even have energy? Don't you think that they would fall out?

Anorexia is a mental disorder, you're referring to fasting and restricting.
Yes, it does work for a while, then your body begins eating muscle (including your heart and liver) and the weight loss becomes a negative thing.
1 day fasting?: I lost about 0.4lbs, but I exercised aswell and I'd eating a fair amount the day before so my metabolism was sky high.
30 days fasting?: Depends on the person, I think 20lbs if you're fairly overweight, 15 maybe if you're average.
Want to burn fat? Do 30 minutes cardio exercise in the morning before you've eaten, your body will burn fat because you have no carbs to burn. Quicker, safer and much more effective.

Depends on a person's body and fat storage.
And yes, when one does partake in Anorexia, the body goes into starvation mode and try to store as much fat as possible. But sooner or later, the body will burn the fat up for energy and the person will lose weight. Practitioners will eventually feel fatigued and dizzy from the lack of energy, but they will take in a small amount of food in between nothing to keep awake and alive.
The body will keep functioning until one day it cannot take anymore and the person will collapse or black out.

well anorexia doesn't work for a while. when you stop eating, ur body goes into overdrive and puts out more nutrients then needed which makes you bloated and heavier. after about a month or so of not eating much, you can lose a few pounds up to many pounds. it depends on the person. and no, they don't have much energy. and they look scary and all bony. please don't be an anorexic

Anorexia is where you starve your body...it is also a mental disease. Your body will eat its own muscle first i believe, then fat. It is completely unhealthy. My mother was anorexic for all my life. She has almost died, and she still battles with it. She eats lettuce, turkey, crackers and bananas. Once a day. She is really sick all the time, and has been hospitalized many, many times. Please if you are considering doing this, DON'T. It will tear apart your friends and family. If you know someone who has this, get them help. It is a terrible thing.
