How Do You Can Fresh Vegetables?

Do you absolutely HAVE to use a pressure cooker canner to can vegetables? I used to do canning in a big pot on top of the stove, but haven't done any canning in years. Pressure cooker canners are expensive. Can't I just can veggies the old fashioned way on top of the stove? Any advice is appreciated.

As long as you use vinegar in the brine and salt, most veggies can be canned.

Sure! The old way with ball jars works fine. Just make sure the jars are sterilized with a 1:100 bleach solution and rinsed well.
