Is 170,000 miles too much? For a Chevy Prism 1998?

I am buying a chevy prism, paying about 1700 for it, it is in excelent condition, needs a few reparis, but its not gonna cost me more than 200. Its my first car. it has 170000 miles on it, had a engine replaced in it at 90,000. My only worry now is how long the transmission will last. I know you can never really know, but just like a rough estimate? do cars often make it to 200,000? Thanks so much in advance!

It should easily surpass 200,000 miles since a Prism is basically a Toyota Corolla with Chevy emblems. I would at least get them to deduct the estimated $200 in minor repairs from the price.

ok, chevys tend to make 200000, and the transmission is usualy still good. my dads 92 chevy truck has 185,000 miles, and the trans is still good.

*the chevy prizm and toyota corola where manufactured side by side, and where the exact same car, just with different embems
