Track marks from heroin?
My ex came over to visit our daughter. I won't let him leave my place with her. He's been addicted for years now. We haven't seen him in about a year. He looks terrible. His track marks are on his knuckles and hands. They are open sores. His hands are swollen and turning bluish. How the hell can he still do this? Will it ever end? I'm so frustrated and scared for my daughter. She didn't notice. Thank God. Can someone please respond who is or has been in this situation.

I had a friend like that many years ago. Eventually we drifted apart in large part due to his heroin addiction. I tried to help but it was of no use. Eventually he had some problems with the law and his family and the courts made sure he went to treatment. I think he was there for 6 months and last I heard he is clean now. Strong families often ensure their members kick these horrible habits.
