how can I opt out of Yahoo messenger?
My son set this up for me thinking I'd like it but I don't. I want it GONE.
Any advice on how to uninstall it would be gratefully received.
Thanks to all those very informed answers. I am finally rid of that troublesome programme (I hope!) there is one slight problem though, my Yahoo toolbars has changed, can I get it back to the original setting?

If you have windows then do the following:
1. Click on the start button, and click on "Control Panel"
2. Click on "Add or Remove Programs"
3. Select "Yahoo! Messenger", or something that has a name similar to that, and click on uninstall. Now, POOF!. It's gone.
